About Robert

Practice

Rob Simpson focuses his practice primarily on probate and trust litigation, trust and estate administration, and trust and wills. He routinely represents heirs, beneficiaries, creditors and private and professional fiduciaries in both contested and uncontested matters affecting all aspects of trusts and estates. He has substantial trial experience in challenging and defending the validity of estate planning documents, including wills, codicils, trusts and amendments. Rob routinely prosecutes and defends claims for breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, undue influence, breach of trust, accounting, fiduciary removal, competency, lack of capacity, unjust enrichment, closely held business disputes and elder abuse.

Rob’s experience also extends out of court, where he has successfully negotiated settlements for clients involving complex trust and estate matters. He understands that emotions run high in most probate cases and he strives to provide clients with both thoughtful and thorough strategies to win their cases. Rob provides creative resolutions and cost-benefit solutions to various problems and issues, which have proven invaluable to his clients.

Martindale-Hubbell gave Rob its highest “AV Preeminent” rating. Rob is a member of the American Bar Association, State of California Bar Association, and the Monterey County Bar Association. He serves as a Mediator in the Monterey County Court-Directed Mediation Program, and on the executive committee of the Trust and Estate Section of the Monterey County Bar Association. Currently, Rob is the Vice President of the Board for Legal Services for Seniors in Monterey County.
