About John
Practice
John Gutierrez is a member of our Litigation practice group, where he handles contract, real property, corporate, and landlord-tenant disputes.
Before joining our firm, John practiced in Sacramento, representing a broad range of clients – from national and international business clients to local industry leaders. Now in our Salinas office, he takes pride in serving the surrounding community, whether that be providing his clients with common-sense resolutions to business disputes or resolute advocacy to protect his client’s interests.
Background
During law school, John received a Sacramento County Bar Association Diversity Fellowship, which gave him his start in civil litigation. He also externed with the California Public Employment Relations Board, where he assisted in mediations between the State of California and its employees. This intersection of advocacy and alternative dispute resolution shaped his civil litigation practice.
A native of Sacramento, John now lives in Marina with his wife, who is a Professor of Mathematics at CSU Monterey Bay. In his free time, he enjoys strength training and learning to bake a variety of breads with his wife.
