Accounting Manager

Overview
Noland, Hamerly, Etienne & Hoss is seeking a technically proficient Accounting Manager to join our team. This role is an integral part of the Accounting department and reports directly to the Executive Director.  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.  At least 8 years in a service industry is preferred (such as Legal, Accounting or Engineering), as well as two-plus years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting for the corporate trust accounts
  • General accounting duties such as bank and account reconciliations and month-end/year-end close, preparing annual 1099s, managing wire transactions
  • Back-up for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections
  • Strong knowledge of General Ledger, suspense, and clearing accounts
  • Assist with the administration of the Firm’s 401(K) plan, including audit preparation
  • Assist with special projects such as profitability calculations, reporting enhancements, and other data analytics
  • Coach, develop, and supervise a small Accounting team

Requirements:

  • Must be conscientious, professional, and highly motivated
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 8 years of experience in a service industry preferred (such as Legal, Accounting, or Engineering)
  • 2+ years of prior supervisory experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to set priorities
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Desire to grow professionally
  • Working knowledge of and experience with billing
  • Experience with SQL database application and billing software preferred
  • Must be able to use diplomacy and discretion when distributing information
  • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently, both independently and collaboratively, within a team environment
  • Analytical thinker with ability to effectively integrate/leverage technology to maximize the efficiency of the department’s processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
