About Melinda
Practice
Melinda is a general transactional attorney, helping her clients navigate the complexities of strategic transactions and corporate governance. She enjoys counseling clients on a broad spectrum of issues ranging from routine corporate matters to major business decisions and the legal, governance and strategic considerations they bring.
Before joining the firm, Melinda worked as a corporate attorney at a large law firm in San Francisco, where she advised privately- and publicly-held companies on strategic corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and emerging companies transactions. At Noland Hamerly, she brings her broad experience to small and mid-sized businesses in the local community.
Background
Melinda is a global citizen, having grown up in multiple countries on multiple continents. She earned her BS in Environmental Science and Political Studies from Queen’s University in Canada. She earned both her JD and an LLM in International and Comparative Law from Duke University School of Law. While in law school, she served as the Managing Editor for the Duke Environmental Law & Policy Forum and as Articles Editor of the Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law. She also held legal internships with an international airline in Dubai, UAE and a global law firm in Beijing, China.
Melinda moved to the Monterey area with her family in 2024. She serves on the board of Leadership Edge, Inc., a leadership development nonprofit. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring local farmers’ markets, gardening, spending time outdoors and by the ocean and adventurous travel with her family.
